3/13/2013 8:02:00 AM Heritage Middle School seeks nominations for awards
Each year Heritage Middle School recognizes people in the community who have played a major role in contributing to the development of children in Chino Valley with the annual HMS Hall of Fame Award.
The first recipients of this recognition in 1989 were Alford Pot, a longtime member of the CVUSD board of trustees, and Lucy Bates, who volunteered her home as a place for social and recreational activities for the youth of Chino Valley.
Over the years many school employees, volunteers, and board members have been nominated, along with parents, community leaders, town librarians, Little League coaches, and a judge.
It is time once again for HMS to ask for nominations for this year's Heritage Middle School Hall of Fame award. If there is a person you know who goes the extra mile to make sure the children of Chino Valley are safe or well fed or learn how to play a sport, or who has dedicated their time in another way to the community's children, that's the person HMS is looking for.
Send nominations to Heritage Middle School, P.O. Box 225, Chino Valley, AZ 86323 or call 928-636-4464, or come by and ask to speak to Principal Scott Muir or school secretary Mary Bailey. The school is at 1076 N. Rd. 1 West. Deadline for nominations is April 25.
Nominations should include a photo of the person, your reasons for nominating them (150 words or more) and your name and phone number.
Nominees will be recognized during eighth grade graduation, 7 p.m., May 16, at Yavapai College Performance Hall.
