Del Rio School celebrates its 30th birthday this year by hosting an assembly on Dec. 6 followed by a Holiday Happening Family Night.

Reporter

Thirty years and counting - Del Rio School in Chino Valley opened its doors in 1982 and celebrated its 30th birthday this past week, welcoming past students and staff members.

Among those present were first principal of DRS, Kent Evans, who along with current principal Susan Clark and long time secretary Leona Couch delivered heartfelt speeches to the standing room only crowd that attended an early morning celebration.

Following the speeches, many current and former members of the faculty related fond memories to the audience, followed by guided tours of the campus that included various displays and specially decorated classroom doors representing various years in DRS history.

Following the morning program was the Holiday Happening Family Night in the gym that featured various crafts, games, refreshments, and a Santa photo booth that served as a fundraiser for the school's yearbook program.
