Celebrate 4th of July in the coolnesss of Memory Park's shade trees
The Independence Day Party in the Park event will be Saturday, July 3, noon-6 p.m., at Memory Park and will be sponsored by the Town of Chino Valley Parks & Recreation Department and supported by booths from local businesses and clubs.

Chino 4-H to feature petting zoo at Equifest
The Arizona Equifest will be on June 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Prescott Rodeo Grounds, on Rodeo Drive.

There will be many horse events such as a draft horse and American Stock horse demos, a barrel race and pole bending contest, dog agility and obedience, police dog , and sheep herding demonstrations, a farrier demonstration, Heritage Park Zoo will be there to educate people on birds of prey, reptiles on the trail etc.

Retro-Tones will take you back in time, musically
The Retro-Tones is a doo-wop, rockabilly, classic rock band that will play at SpringFest Cruise-in Dance on Friday, May 21, 8-10 p.m., at the Community Center Park, Road 1 East at Perkinsville Road. People can get free swing dance lessons by Hector Rivera from 7:30-8 p.m.

5K Run and 1 Mile Walk/Run will begin at 8 a.m. with registration from 6:45-7:55 a.m. Or people can pick up registration packets on May 21, Friday, at 5 p.m., at the Community Center (pool) at Road 1 East and Perkinsville Road.

SpringFest Breakfast will serve the following items from 7-10 a.m., cooked up by the Chino Valley High School Culinary Arts classes - Breakfast burritos with eggs, potatoes, sausage and cheese, homemade cinnamon rolls and bagels and cream cheese, and fresh fruit.

Agriculture-related vendors can "share their wares" at the 4th Annual Agricultural Experience Day on May 8, 10 a.m.-4 p.m., at the Cooper Agricultural Center in Chino Valley, and should contact organizers this week. Booth space is free. Call Casey at 636-2298 or Marie at 237-0790.

Prescott Library at mall entertains during Gaelic Week
Chino Valley resident, Russ Miller, branch manager of the library at the Prescott Gateway Mall, is planning a week of activities in honor of St. Patrick's Day. Gaelic Week, now through Friday, has become an annual event, with special prizes given to anyone "caught wearing a kilt." Musical events including bagpipes, recorders, harps, cellos, flutes, fiddles and more will be featured daily.

Senior trip to casino
The Chino Valley Senior Center is planning a trip to Wild Horse Pass Casino in Phoenix on Feb. 18, leaving at 7:30 a.m. Cost is $10 for transportation. Everyone will receive $10 upon their arrival at the casino.

Heritage Park Zoological Sanctuary in Prescott will have a "Romance in the Wild" event on Feb. 14, 4-7 p.m. where people can enjoy wine tasting, light appetizers and desserts along with a romantic tour of the sanctuary.
