Historical Society fetes 10 years

The Chino Valley Historical Society invites the community to celebrate its 10th anniversary with a presentation on activities during that span at its monthly meeting at 7 p.m. Thursday, Nov.14, at the Chino Valley Senior Center.

The group has participated in many community events, including SpringFest, Territorial Days, and Chamber of Commerce events, as well as working to preserve the town's historical record.

Society members have worked with Del Rio Ranch owners to create awareness of the historical significance of the property, documented older properties as well as those that were scheduled to be demolished, and interviewed older citizens to capture their stories.

The group has an agreement with the Chino Valley Unified School District for the use of a barn at the Cooper Agricultural Center to promote Chino Valley's farming history, and has participated in various events at the Ag Center.

Along the way, members have enjoyed field trips to museums, and explored old trails and historic sites.
