Game & Fish, Outdoor Experience sponsor javelina hunt

The Game and Fish Department in conjunction with the Arizona Bow hunters Association and the Outdoor Experience 4 All is offering the Javelina Hunt and Outdoor Fair on Feb. 22 through the 24 in the Bagdad area.

The camp is free and open to the public.

Those wishing to hunt must already have a Javelina tag, but this is not just a hunt but an opportunity for anyone wishing to spend time communing with nature.

There will be a number of presentations, and archery will also be available.

"We understand not everyone wants to hunt, but it is important to understand the critical role hunters play in modern wildlife management," said Darren Tucker, wildlife manager for Game and Fish.

Other activities available will include, shooting archery, wild game care, glassing and use of binoculars, and basic camping skills.
