Chino Cooks - Cheesy-Turkey Lasagna is perfect indulgence for special occasion

Cheesy-Turkey Lasagna
1 pound ground turkey

1 small onion, diced

2 Tbsp. diced garlic

1 ½ tsp. oregano

1 tsp. garlic salt

1 tsp. onion powder

½ tsp. crushed red pepper flakes

½ tsp. black pepper

1 8 oz. package of fresh mozzarella cheese( slice)

3 c. blended Italian cheeses



Cook over medium heat until browned.

Stir in 1 large jar of Prego Spaghetti Sauce, ½ tsp. sugar, 2 Tbsp. white vinegar, 2 bay leaves, to meat mixture. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese, and let simmer for 30-40 minutes.(Remove bay leaves.)

Cook one box of lasagna noodles, drain. In a 9 by 13 pan, spread 1cup of sauce in bottom of pan and start layering

Laying down layers of noodles, then slices of mozzerella, sprinkle part of Italian cheeses, then cover with meat sauce. Continue layering, top with any remaining cheese and bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes, the first 15 minutes covered with foil, then remove foil for remaining time.

This past weekend was my birthday and my daughter, Nicole Bassi, made one of my favorite dinners, lasagna. This is by no means a low calorie dinner, but I feel I can overindulge on my birthday. I am a cheese lover and this dish definitely fills the bill. If you are a pasta lover, you're sure to love this dish.
