Obedience match brings participants from across the state
Preston the Australian Shepherd, owned by Alice Blazer of Cave Creek, sails over a jump Saturday at an AKC obedience match in Memory Park, sponsored by the Chino Valley Canine Training Club of Arizona. About 30 owner-dog teams attended. The American Kennel Club (AKC) registers purebred dogs and tracks their genealogy.

Three train enthusiasts from Chino Valley and Paulden allowed the public to see the "train room" creations at their homes Aug. 16 as part of the annual Beat the Heat Swap Meet and Open House Tour. Three other open houses were in Prescott and Dewey homes.
