Letter: Override an investment in children's education

Editor:

Children will return your investment by their future productivity if you vote yes on the school budget override in Chino Valley.

While it would be wonderful for parents to send their children to charter and private schools or home school, it is not affordable or feasible for many families. Therefore we need to support the budget override for small class numbers in both basic and arts enriching programs for a high quality education.

We should also support the continued employment of public school teachers who have devoted their careers teaching in Chino Valley.

I am a property owner, without children of my own, yet many have enriched my life. I directed a large group of children in a local play, and I am a published writer of children's stories and will be participating in Read Across America this spring.

Public school teachers were an inspiration to me growing up and I believe in giving back to the teachers and children where I live. When you attend local school productions you can see the energy, confidence and growth in the children that will help them many years down the path of their lives.
