Airpark discussion draws new faces

Editor:

I attended a meeting recently at MJ's Furniture store in Chino Valley. The meeting centered around the topic of the proposed construction of the Michael A. Perkins airpark in Chino Valley. I was glad to see 16 new faces at the meeting which means more and more residents are becoming involved in this local topic. As you know, the proposed airpark is not going to be a small private entity, but a large commercial type airport which will conflict with the current Prescott Airport at Love Field. These residents seem to understand that another airport in such close proximity to Prescott's will only cause additional tax dollars, noise and safety problems for the residents of Chino. One or more of the current Chino Valley town Council expressed favorable views towards this airport. It will be necessary to pin down each of the Town Council and Mayor as to their feelings toward this abomination. Those of you interested can log onto www.futurechinovalley.net for current information. Hope to see more faces at the next meeting.
