2/20/2013 9:43:00 AM Letter: Arizona governor supports school-based health care
This February, communities across the nation will celebrate National School-Based Health Care Awareness Month. We have been very fortunate to have Arizona's Governor Brewer sign a state proclamation recognizing the value of school based clinics.
The students in Chino Valley School District are fortunate to have a free school-based health center through Yavapai Regional Medical Center. Partners for Healthy Students provide diagnosis and treatment of minor illnesses, sports physicals, and health education.
I would like to acknowledge Mary Ellen Sandeen, CPNP and Nancy Gloyd. They yearn to connect, to raise awareness and have an amazing desire to help those in need.
Every student deserves the same chance at being successful in school. We can take another step closer to that reality with a school-based health center on every campus because school-based health centers help keep our children healthy, fit, and ready to learn. Ever Proud!
