Police are looking for a 50-year-old woman who went missing on Oct. 15 and who is "endangered" due to her mental state, according to a police report.
Tammy Jo Dewhurst was supposed to move from Paulden to an address on Silver Cliff Circle in Prescott at the beginning of the month, but apparently never moved into the home, the report said. Her guardian was out of town, and when she returned, she contacted Dewhurst, who claimed to be living at the Silver Cliff home but was not.
A resident of the house into which Dewhurst was supposed to move said her belongings did not arrive, the report said, and the moving company said Dewhurst told them to put the property into a storage unit.
The roommate told police that Dewhurst had lived at the house for about a week at the end of September, but that she had left the home.
She has contacted "select people" by phone, but refuses to say from where she's calling, Lt. Ken Morley said.
Dewhurst is 5-foot-9, 120 pounds, with medium-length brown hair and brown eyes. Authorities do not have a good photograph of her to share.
Anyone who knows Dewhurst's whereabouts is asked to call Prescott Police at 928-445-3131 and ask for Officer Jack Shapiro.
