Yavapai County Sheriff's deputies arrested a 23-year-old man suspected in a string of vehicle burglaries in Paulden, Inscription Canyon, Chino Valley and the Pine Lakes subdivision just outside of Prescott.

Sheriff's deputies booked Jeremiah Kennedy into the Camp Verde jail on charges of presenting a forged instrument, possession of drug paraphernalia and nine counts of burglary.

Deputies said Kennedy was seen inside the Wal-Mart on Gail Gardner Way in Prescott with a woman who allegedly tried to use a debit card stolen from a car in Pine Lakes, said Dwight D'Evelyn, media and crime prevention coordinator for the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office. Two days later, Sheriff's deputies learned Kennedy allegedly cashed two stolen checks that belonged to the same victim whose debit card had been stolen at two Prescott banks, D'Evelyn added.

Prescott Police officers found Kennedy at a home on Rush Street and detained him for an interview with Sheriff's deputies.

On Monday, a victim from one of the Pine Lakes vehicle burglaries identified property found in Kennedy's vehicle. Deputies have leads linking Kennedy to other vehicle burglaries, and more charges are expected, D'Evelyn said.

Kennedy is due in court Nov. 24.
