Sheriff's office seeks public's help to find mailbox vandals
Special to the Review

Sheriff's deputies are asking the public's help to find the person or persons responsible for vandalizing 13 mailboxes in Paulden possibly the night of Dec. 4 or early morning hours of Dec. 5. The vandals didn't take any of the mail.

The damaged mailboxes were on Feather Mountain Road and surrounding streets including Big Chino Road, Annie Road, Big Sky Road and Antelope Road. A short time later, deputies investigated additional mailbox vandalism in a neighborhood adjacent to Old Highway 89 in Paulden. Street locations include Quen Sabe Lane, Short Drive and Kiawa Lane.

Deputies believe the vandals used a bat or similar object to strike and damage the mailboxes. Witnesses told Yavapai County Sheriff's Office deputies that they saw a suspicious vehicle - a purple and black Mazda which contained several males - in the area the prior day, and said it appeared as if the occupants were looking at some of the same mailboxes later vandalized.

Anyone with information regarding the suspects in these vandalisms is urged to call the Yavapai County Sheriff's Office at 928-771-3260. Callers may also report the information anonymously to Yavapai Silent Witness at 1800-932-3232. A new cell phone texting notification is also available for Silent Witness by texting the word "Busted," then the tip, to 411247.
