Traffic switch scheduled for Hell Canyon Bridge
Special to the Review

Crews have been working to repair the bridge deck on the SR 89 Hell Canyon Bridge.  This project is located between Chino Valley and Ash Fork on SR 89 and is scheduled to be complete in the next month.  Work moved from the southbound lane of the bridge to the northbound lane on Sunday, Oct. 18, during nighttime hours.  This will require a traffic switch to allow repair work to be performed on the east side of the bridge.

Following the traffic switch, traffic will remain restricted to one travel lane, with a temporary traffic signal to move vehicles across the bridge 24 hours a day.  Motorists will experience delays of 5 to 10 minutes to pass through the project zone.  Please drive slowly and use caution through the Hell Canyon Bridge construction zone.

Large Truck Restriction

Work on the Hell Canyon Bridge will require a single travel lane.  This lane will be approximately 10.5 feet wide, with no shoulder.  This traffic control configuration will restrict load widths to 10 feet and require oversize loads to utilize alternate routes.

For more information on travel restrictions associated with this project please call the project hotline at 1.888.236.4374.
